SUMMARY:Hekate: The Dark Goddess Who Holds the Light
DESCRIPTION:\nThis program will be recorded and made available publicly on
our&nbsp\;YouTube channel. You do not need to have registered to view the
video.\n\n\n\nThis talk will explore the image of Hekate as an aspect of t
he archetype of the Great Goddess. We will explore Hekate's darkness\, lim
inality and the light she holds.\n\n\n\nHer manifestations in archeology\,
mythology and art reveal her as a Goddess that unites the split feminine
image modern society holds. In contrast to the split between a pure virgin
and the dark witch\, Hekate holds life\, death and regeneration in a tota
lity.\n\n\n\nHekate further presents us with a feminine image relevant to
our times\, an image that gives us access not only to natural instincts\,
but also to the divinity of a feminine instinctual awareness that has been
lost to modernity. The image of Hekate also offers an ancient wisdom of
how to traverse the crossroads of life\, experiences which confront us wit
h darkness\, as well as initiatory processes. Hekate holds a light in the
 darkness.\n\n\n\nSarah Jade Steinberg\, Diplomate Jungian analyst\, traine
d at&nbsp\;the Research and Training Centre for Depth Psychology in Zurich
according to C.G. Jung and Marie-Louise von Franz and this talk is based
on her thesis undertaken during that training. Originally from South Afric
a\, and now living near Sebastopol\, California\, she obtained an Honors i
n Psychology from the University of Cape Town. She also has a Masters in C
onflict Facilitation and Organizational Change from the Process Work Insti
tute and has worked in various fields from conflict resolution to sexual a
ssault and domestic violence advocacy\, as well as leadership development\
, and has been an analyst for in-depth qualitative psychological assessmen
ts\n\n\n\nMs. Steinberg has a private practice with clients worldwide and
also runs ongoing fairytale groups - a method in which symbolic thinking i
 s practiced and gets real.\n\n\n\nSarah Jade Steinberg's website\n\n\n\nLe
arning objectives:\n\n\n\n\nLearn how Hekate\, as a symbol of feminine con
sciousness within the unconscious\, can help a person navigate difficult b
ut potentially transformative life experiences.\n\n\n\nDiscuss how the dar
k feminine may manifest in modern psychological experience and how Hekate\
, as a uniting symbol\, can help integrate it into a transformative totali
ty.\n\n\n\n\nImage by Richard Wünsch from Antikes Zaubergerät aus Pergam
