SUMMARY:A Jungian Analyst During the War in Ukraine: Challenges and Lessons
  Learned
DESCRIPTION:\nThis program will be recorded and made available publicly on
our&nbsp\;YouTube channel. You do not need to have registered to view the
video.\n\n\n\nI am not a famous Jungian analyst\, I have not created a new
theory\, I have not written a book. The only thing that makes me stand ou
t is that there has been a war in my country for almost three years - a wa
r in which Russia is killing my people day after day\, trying to destroy U
kraine and everything Ukrainian. I live and work in Zaporizhzhia\, 30 km f
rom the front line\, in a city that is constantly bombed and shelled. But
I LIVE AND WORK\, and sometimes I wonder how I manage to do it. This is wh
at I will talk about: my personal experience\, my vision of this war\, and
above all my work with my clients. On the one hand\, it is a unique exper
ience\, and on the other hand\, it is an experience I share with my people
 .\n\n\n\nSvitlana Shevchenko\, MA\, holds a master’s degree in psycholog
 y and is a Jungian analyst\, a medical psychologist\, and a member of the
International Association for Analytical Psychology (IAAP) and the Ukraini
an Development Group for Analytical Psychology (UDG IAAP). She has been wo
rking with adults\, children\, support groups and dream groups for over 20
years. She is especially interested in dream interpretation\, the alchemy
of transformation\, myths\, and shadow work\, and she conducts training s
eminars on these and other important Jungian topics.\n\n\n\nCurrently\, as
President of the Ukrainian Association for Analytical Psychology\, she is
especially focused on the creation of a new Jungian community. She recent
ly helped her British colleagues conduct a series of webinars titled "With
Ukrainian Jungians." Like most of her Ukrainian colleagues\, she is facin
g a great challenge - conducting analysis and psychotherapy in the context
of war.\n\n\n\nLearning objectives:\n\n\n\n\nIdentify and explain the arc
hetypal roots of war.\n\n\n\nDistinguish collective dreams from personal d
reams\, as exemplified by the occurrence of collective dreams before and d
uring significant world events.\n\n\n\nIdentify the unique challenges in p
roviding psychotherapy to a community during a time of immense trauma.\n\n
