DESCRIPTION:\nThis program will not be recorded.\n\n\n\nThis presentation f
 ocuses on a case study in which the evolution of the Self from early child
 hood to adulthood can be observed through a series of drawings spanning fo
 rty years. It can be viewed as an example of an ongoing process of individ
 uation and as an approach to the archetype of the Self\, from its pre-conf
 iguration in the psyche of a child to its slow unfolding during and after 
 the mid-life crisis.\n\n\n\nMercedes Vandendorpe received a BA in Visual A
 rts and Communications from the University of Ottawa and has developed bot
 h individual and collaborative artistic projects that unfold from the drea
 ming imagination. Her deep interest in the world of dreams led her to spec
 ialize in Jungian Theory at the International Society for the Development 
 of Jungian Psychoanalysis in Valencia\, Spain\, where she now teaches in t
 he Art and Culture specialization. In addition\, she has taught courses an
 d workshops on symbolic thinking at different institutions such as the Ins
 titut Valencià d’Art Modern and the Research and Training Centre for De
 pth Psychology according to C.G. Jung and Marie-Louise von Franz in Zurich
 \, where she is now in training to become a Jungian analyst.\n\n\n\nLearni
