SUMMARY:Kundalini: Dreams\, Reflections\, and the Five Elements
DESCRIPTION:Several years ago a cluster of Brenda Crowther’s analysands w

ams\, visions and very unusual so-called concrete or physical experiences.
Some of the latter were visible to other people\, spilling out from the i
nwardly psychic into perceived affect or sensation. All were composed of t
he elements of air\, earth\, fire and water\, and additionally the fifth e
lement\, which the alchemists call ether.\nIn this program\, Ms. Crowther
discusses these Kundalini experiences\, with reference to the orienting r
esearch contained in The Psychology of Kundalini Yoga: Notes of the Semi
nar Given in 1932 by C.G. Jung (Princeton\, 1996).\nBrenda Crowther train

and Marie-Louise von Franz. She has been appointed a Fellow of the Guild o
f Pastoral Psychology in England\, awarded for her long and steady contrib
ution to Jungian psychology in the UK.\nJung’s Red Book is a deep inte
rest\, and her seminars on this\, for the Jung Club in London\, lasted sev
en years. She continues to present on this topic\, as well as others throu
ghout the UK\, Germany\, Switzerland and the United States. She has publis
hed many articles\, was editor of Harvest: International Journal for Ju
ngian Studies for many years\, and at present works on a book. Before beg
inning her analytical training\, she studied painting and art history\, an
d worked as an artist and teacher. A dream opened her into Jungian trainin
g\, just as a dream took her to France to live. She lives in Foix\, at the
foot of the Pyrenees in southwest France\, affectionately known as “Mar
 y Magdalene Country.”\nLearning objectives:\n\n Define the symbolic
and psychological nature of Kundalini as discussed in the recorded seminar
s of C G Jung.\n Explain how an eastern discipline crosses over into west
ern individuals through the archetypal power inherent in Kundalini.\n Exp
lain how a western analyst can deal with the rising of Kundalini.\n
