SUMMARY:Jung and the Art of Aging\, Part One: Two Views of Aging
DESCRIPTION:Jung and the Art of Aging\n\nPart One: Two Views of Aging\nPres
 ented by\nGilda Frantz\, MA\nSunday\, 4 PM - 6 PM\, March 6th\, 2016\n(thi
s program was not recorded)\nNo matter how hard we try we cannot avoid get
ting older. There is a negative connotation to the words "growing older" s
o that they have come to mean we're getting OLD. Well\, I must admit that
we do grow old\, if we have good genes and good health. Aging can be a jou
rney and a kind of adventure. We have to learn what to take to this new te
rritory\, this new country in which we've arrived. My talk focuses upon no
t only what to take but more to the point\, what not to take with you to t
his new territory.\nWhile aging can be an adventure\, if we become ill on
this journey it becomes a confrontation with the reality of death. Both vi
ews are important toward the development of individuation.\nCourse objecti
ves:\nIdentify at least two items that one should take on the journey of a
ging and two one should not. Explain why/why not.\nDescribe how both healt
h and illness can contribute positively toward individuation\nGilda Frantz
