SUMMARY:The Sailor Cannot See the North:  The Psycho-spiritual Dilemma of
our Time (38th Annual Jungian Conference)
DESCRIPTION:"The sailor cannot see the north\, but knows the needle can."
~ Emily Dickinson\nWhat are the sources of guidance for a though
tful person in our country amid political fractionation\, animosity\, divi
sive ideologies\, and numbing distractions—a time in which the individua
l has an enormous summons to social\, psychological\, and spiritual integr
ity? This presentation will challenge the audience to assume responsibilit
 y for a thoughtful\, discerned\, and experientially verified authority\, o
ne which bases itself on respect for others\, but also embodies a willingn
ess to show up\, to be different\, to stand for something real.\n\nPartici
pants are invited to bring a notebook and pen for personal reflection. Con
sistent with the task above\, you will be challenged to discern your own v
alues\, be accountable for them\, and summon the courage to live them.\n\n
James Hollis\, PhD is a Zurich-trained Jungian analyst with a private prac
tice in Houston\, TX\, and author of thirteen books\, the latest being Wha
t Matters Most: Living a More Considered Life.\n\nJames Hollis' website
