 ed Book\, with its intense psychic imagery\, illuminates our understanding
  of the unconscious in a unique way. For Jung\, images represent a means o
 f communicating information and expressing emotion as well as form a bridg
 e between consciousness and the unconscious. In this lecture we will inves
 tigate the importance of the image in the context of Jung's analytical psy
 chology. We will explore how Jung himself started to draw and paint images
  that later transformed into the Red Book\, and focus on how Jungians acro
 ss the world use painting of inner images in different therapeutic setting
 s. To conclude\, Marion will share a case example from her experiences as 
 an analyst working with drawn images. \nMarion Anderson\, JA\, is a clinic
 al psychologist licensed in Brazil and a Jungian analyst living in Los Ang
 eles. A teaching member of the International Society for Sandplay Therapy\
 , she first specialized in painting therapy in Germany. She is an Associat
 e Member of the C.G. Jung Institute of Los Angeles and is currently enroll
 ed in the Clinical Psychology doctoral program at Pacifica Graduate Instit
 ute.
