 Sunday\, 4:00 pm\, October 9th\, 2005\n\nAt the end of the nineteenth cent
 ury\, a number of figures set about to establish a new discipline of scien
 tific psychotherapy. This talk will present a new account of these histori
 c developments\, then situate and explore Jung's psychotherapy within this
  environment. By reconstructing the events taking place in Jung's work and
  by drawing on first hand accounts\, Jungian historian\, Sonu Shamdasani w
 ill investigate a new perspective on the history of Jung's practice.\nSonu
  Shamdasaniis an historian of psychology\, and a research associate at the
  Wellcome Centre for the History of Medicine at University College London.
  He is the author of several books\, includingJung and the Making of Moder
 n Psychology: The Dream of a Scienceand the editor of several books\, incl
 uding Jung's seminar\,The Psychology of Kundalini Yoga. He is currently ed
 iting Jung'sRed Bookunder the auspices of the Philemon Foundation.
