Traveling Through Oz:
The Journey to Wholeness

Presented by
Gita Dorothy Morena, PhD

  Sunday,  4 PM - 6 PMOctober 12th,  2014
Invite your friends:

Drawing insight from L. Frank Baumís quintessential American fairy tale, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, Dr. Morena explores Oz as a metaphor for Jungís individuation process.  Dorothy and her companions are seen as aspects of the inner dimensions of the psyche that need to be identified, healed, and integrated into wholeness.  Examples from Sandplay case material are included to show how Oz imagery expresses issues that emerge during the journey home to wholeness.

Gita Dorothy Morena, PhD, is a licensed Marriage, Family and Child Therapist who has been in private practice in the San Diego area for over 40 years.  With the given name of Dorothy, she embodies the beloved heroine created by her great-grandfather, L. Frank Baum in The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.  Dr. Morena specializes in Jungian oriented Sandplay Therapy and is a Buddhist practitioner whose focus is bringing spiritual practice into everyday life through Sandplay and meditation. She is the author of The Wisdom of Oz: Reflections of a Jungian Sandplay Psychotherapist.
